Web server management platform RunCloud has announced a series of major updates aimed at enhancing performance, security, and automation for modern web applications and WordPress environments.
Developers and sysadmins using RunCloud can now take full advantage of HTTP/3, the next-generation web protocol, as well as the latest stable releases of PHP 8.3.22 and PHP 8.4.8 for NGINX stacks. Additionally, a new WP Canvas API endpoint has been introduced, unlocking further automation capabilities for WordPress-based workflows.
HTTP/3 Now Available on RunCloud
After much anticipation, HTTP/3 is now officially supported on RunCloud. Based on QUIC, HTTP/3 delivers major benefits:
- ⚡ Faster page loads thanks to faster, more efficient connections
- 🔐 Improved security with native TLS 1.3 support
- 📱 Better performance on mobile networks, even under high latency
Users can enable HTTP/3 when creating new web applications or through the SSL/TLS settings of existing ones.

PHP 8.3.22 and 8.4.8 Now Supported
RunCloud has also updated its NGINX stack to support:
- PHP 8.3.22, the latest stable release
- PHP 8.4.8, part of the upcoming development branch
These versions include performance enhancements, bug fixes, and new language features aimed at improving code efficiency and compatibility with modern libraries.
ℹ️ Note: If your server runs OpenLiteSpeed, PHP updates are not managed directly by RunCloud. Once new versions are available on OLS, they will automatically reflect on your server.
New API Endpoint: WP Canvas
For WordPress environments, RunCloud has introduced a new WP Canvas endpoint in its public API.
This feature allows users to create and modify WP Canvases programmatically, enabling:
- Automated deployments
- Integration with DevOps pipelines
- Remote management of custom environments
Analysis: Moving Toward a Modern Hosting Stack
These updates position RunCloud as a forward-looking platform for server management, catering to technically proficient users who demand:
- Compatibility with cutting-edge web standards
- Optimized content delivery performance
- Continuous integration and streamlined automation
HTTP/3 support puts RunCloud in the same league as providers like Cloudflare, Kinsta, and Fly.io, which already offer QUIC-enabled services. Meanwhile, the WP Canvas API reflects a growing need for scalable, scriptable WordPress environments, particularly for agencies and teams managing multiple sites.
