The latest maintenance release marks the end-of-life for version 24.8 and urges all users to upgrade without delay.
The Document Foundation has officially released LibreOffice 25.2.5, the fifth maintenance update of the 25.2 series of its popular free and open-source office suite. This release includes 63 bug fixes that improve reliability, performance, and interoperability across platforms, and is now the recommended version for all users in production environments.
With the release of LibreOffice 25.2.5, the previous version 24.8 reaches its end of life, meaning it will no longer receive updates or support. Users are encouraged to update their installations immediately to benefit from ongoing improvements.

Compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, and ARM
LibreOffice 25.2.5 is available for major desktop operating systems, including Windows (Intel, AMD, and ARM), macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), and Linux. The update can be downloaded from the official website: libreoffice.org/download.
The release is based on LibreOffice Technology, which supports the development of desktop, mobile, and cloud versions and ensures compatibility with open standards like ODF (ODT, ODS, ODP) and Microsoft’s proprietary OOXML formats (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX).
Community Edition with Enterprise Options
This release is part of the “Community” edition maintained by volunteers. For enterprise-level deployments, The Document Foundation recommends LibreOffice Enterprise versions from ecosystem partners, which offer additional features, long-term support, security backports, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Recent Features and Long-Term Support
LibreOffice 25.2, launched on February 6, 2025, introduced key features such as a new privacy option that removes personal metadata from documents, including author names, timestamps, editing history, printer configuration, and comment details. The 25.2 series will be supported with seven maintenance updates until November 30, 2025, with LibreOffice 25.2.6 scheduled for release in early September.
Downloads and Documentation
Binaries for DEB and RPM-based Linux distributions and source tarballs are available for download. Users of rolling-release distributions like Arch Linux or openSUSE Tumbleweed can expect the update via their official repositories shortly.
User manuals in English for Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, and Math are also available at books.libreoffice.org.
